Probably from the late 1920s...

It sure looks like the John O"Daniel Hosiery Mill without the clearstory on the roof. Even the topography looks the same. If it's not the same building, someone seems to have been copying the same plan.

Does look somewhat like it, but it isn't. Wrong windows, no clerestory, no RR tracks.

I can't find anything that matches, but my guess as to why this one is tricky is because we're actually looking at the back of the building. There's a stepped facade line on the far end, which leads me to believe that that was the main street the building was meant to serve. For what it's worth, I also think the camera is facing somewhere between north and northeast in this shot, based on the few shadows I can find in the photo.

windows similar to the Venable prizery, don't know if that helps to date it...

What does the back of golden belt look like?

801 Gilbert Street? The crrent tax parcel photo could possibly be taken from the opposite direction of the post photo.

403 Morris St Young Roofing Company?

@skvidal - not golden belt, brick detailing is a definite mismatch, gb has concrete pieces mixed in

@anon1 - not 801 gilbert, 801 gilbert has arched window tops

@anon2 - not 403 morris, 403 morris has a flat roof w/ parapets along the sides...

Could this be one of the old mill(?) buildings on Maple Street, just north of E Main St? What was there is long gone but this photo sure looks familiar...

In addition to my previous post, the location I mentioned would have been the 100 block of N Maple, the building(s) were on the west side of the street....BR

The Griffin Hosiery Mill (that stood on N. Maple) is a winner. We are actually looking at the front of the building, so that's N. Maple in the foreground.
