This may be the building that housed "Steve's" in the early 50s. They served "hot cheese": hot dog roll grilled with cheese, chili and mustard - $.10-$.15. A favorite hang-out for teens of that era but perhaps not the one most favored by parents. Does anyone else remember this? Can hardly wait for you to get to Pascall's Grill - Holloway and Hyde Park area.

Anon - I didn't see "Steve's", but then I only do spot checks of the city directories - every ~5 years - to try to keep this somewhat manageable. So if it was only around for ~3 years or so, I could have missed it.

My husband, Doug Bunn, nephew of Colonel Bunn for whom Bunn Terrace was named, says that after being Steve's the building housed another hotdog stand operated by a Greek family named Gregoris. The Gregoris family sold hotdogs for 10 cents. In the late 50s it became a typewriter repair shop.
