That fireplace tile and mantle are exactly like the one in my library on Oakwood. Their ceilings however are much higher and fantastically dramatic.

I lived next door to that house from about 1960 until my graduation from high school in 1971. The elderly couple that lived there at that time were the Conway's. I happened by the old neighborhood a while back, and this house was gone. The house to the right were we lived "104" was still there, it was quite old itself back when I lived there.

This was my husband's Kenneth Herndon's grandparents house, Viola Baker Herndon Conway and Luke Conway. We lived @ 110 1/2 S Hyde Park early in our marriage. Mr Conway passed away in 1978. "Nanny" lived there for several more years before selling the home and moving to their beach house in Emerald Isle. Lots of great memories in this house.

I don't have any photos but, I lived here in the mid 80's - I think 1990/1991 my dad sold it and it burned down... so lucky to stumble upon this!!
