Thank you for the little write up.
I agree with you completely, especially about not changing
things for the continuous flow of memories. So many customers over the years have thanked me for that.
They return over the years pleased that their favorite foods are still on the menu and atmosphere has not changed. Mary Bacon

During the mid-'60's, Mayola's had expanded into the second bay, which I believe was 111 North Gregson. Mayola's was a big frosh hangout because the women could walk over and it was just a short bus ride and walk for us freshman guys who couldn't have cars our first year. I remember one seasoned waitress who warned an inebriated freshman (3.2 beer at 18 then), not to have ice cream after he'd been drinking. He did and with predictable results! Ah, memories.....

I remember Mayola's very well. My aunt,Mayola Smith ran in for several years until she retired. I remember working there fresh out of high school. Those were the days!
