Lawrence D. Kirkland House. 2-story side-gable brick Colonial Revival-style house with an interior chimney, a modillion cornice, an entrance with a decorative fanlight and sidelights, and a 1-bay porch with double fluted columns, a modillion cornice, and a Chippendale wood railing on the roof. Other features are paired 9-over-1 sash windows, a front brick terrace, and a right 1-story frame sunroom. The house was built in 1928 for Lawrence D. Kirkland, vice-president of The Fidelity Bank, and his wife Augusta.

1511 Hermitage Court continues to be occupied by the Kirkland Family. Laurance D. Kirkland Jr. and his wife, Eva, became owners after the death of Laurance and Augusta Kirkland. Ann and Bill Kirkland are the current owners.
