Which means the house on the move ended up at 2407 Green: http://tinyurl.com/44o2mmb Nice work, kris! I'm always amazed at how quickly ED readers can figure out these puzzles.

Perhaps Cotton-Eye Joe was moving just down the street to the lot at (approximately) 2407 Green St.?

The photograph was taken at the corner of Rosehill Ave. and Green St., looking west. So the house was moving east along Green Street. There is only one block of Green St. west of this intersection, so if the house originated on Green, the options are limited.

A street sign is visible in the second photo, to the right of the stop sign. It should be legible in higher resolution.

Where did you come from, Cotton-Eye Joe?

Wow, how exciting! This is my house! We always knew it had been moved but had never seen pictures. We are fairly certain that it used to be at 903 Alabama, in what is now the parking lot of West Durham Pentecostal Holiness Church. One piece of evidence is an old house number we uncovered: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rdmey/3969650236/in/set-72157601396418453

We can second that this is 2407 Green, as we live there now :) The original address was 903 Alabama -- we pulled the aluminum siding off the front porch last year and discovered the house numbers.

This house was one of two moved from Oakland to make the parking lots for the West Durham Pentecostal Church. We live in the other one, at 2503 Green.
