How about "Durham, Renowned the World Around" in big green letters on the water tower? Kinda catchy. Or perhaps an arrow pointing down stating "If you lived here, you'd be home by now."

I wouldn't harp too much about the lack of cool logo. In Durham, you have to "Find Your Cool."

Is there a reason Durham's water tower doesn't have a cool "logo" or painting representing the city it resides in like other city towers?
